I was working with a client recently who had some beautiful decorative mirrors. They were positioned in the heart of her home (the centre). Due to the nature of the energy in that room and the colour of the walls, the mirrors were creating a space that was prone to arguments and conflict.

Mirrors are powerful tools to change the energy of your home but only if positioned correctly.

We all know they are great for placing behind a lamp or opposite a window to make a space lighter.

The reflection also expands energy, making it more active.

Mirrors can enhance an area that is too quiet and stimulate money energy.

However in the wrong place that can cause chaos and arguments and drain your money!

Here are some simple Do’s and Don’ts:

Dont have a mirror opposite the front door

It’s practical to have a mirror near the main door for that last minute check before leaving the house and making a space lighter. But if the mirror is directly opposite the door, you are reflecting the energy straight back out of the house.

This means that you will have to use much more effort to achieve anything and you are working to support the house, not the other way around.

Don’t have a mirror reflecting the bed

Bedrooms should be calm and relaxing. Too many mirrors in a bedroom stimulate the energy making it too active.

If the energy is too active you could find it difficult to sleep or you could have vivid dreams or nightmares.

If you have mirrored wardrobe doors, you could cover the mirrors either with a curtain or by using a frosting spray on the glass. (One client even wallpapered her doors. It looked good!)

If you have sliding doors, try reversing the doors (taking them out and putting them back in the other way around) and decorating this side of the doors.

Mirror in the Bathroom

Don’t have a mirror behind the toilet. This is very popular in restaurants and it’s bad for business!

This will draw the energy (aka money) to the toilet and drain your finances.

Mirrors Opposite each other

Unless you have a hair salon or a fashion business, having mirrors opposite each other causes the energy to bounce back and forward between the two mirrors and can cause arguments.

In the right place the mirrors can be really helpful.

Mirrors To Enhance Finances

Mirrors in a good position can help to stimulate money energy in your home. The best walls to hang a mirror on are in the north and southeast.

Mirrors To Change the Energy of a Space

If the shape of your home is irregular, or the layout is odd, or you have a blank wall that would really benefit from “something”, mirrors are a great way of expanding the space, making it look like there is a view or window. Just be careful what you reflect!
