This can be a tricky time of year to get motivated and back in the swing of things, especially if you’ve had time away from work over the Christmas holidays. But Feng Shui can help you achieve your aims even if your New Year’s resolutions are already under threat. It’s still a good time to create some focus to move forward.

A wise lady once asked me 3 questions that I find really helpful if I’m feeling a bit stuck:

  • What do you want?
  • Why do you want it?
  • What will you do once you get it?

Once you know the answer to these questions, you can use simple Feng Shui techniques for support and focus on moving forward:

How Feng Shui can work to achieve your personal aims

Map of AfricaIf your aim or goal relates to your personal life, then place something that represents this aim on the wall opposite your bed so that when you sit up in bed everyday you can see it and absorb this energy.

For example, if you would like to travel, you could have a picture of a map or an image of a country you’d like to visit on the wall.

Alternatively if you want to improve your relationship potential, you could have an image of a couple on the wall.*

To Achieve your Professional Goals

If your goal relates to a professional project, then you could place an image of it opposite your workspace or desk so that you can see it while you work. (This sounds so simple but it’s effective for even hardcore procrastinators!)

Vision boards are a great way to start to create your wish list but for this type of work, they can be too busy. The aim is to keep your focus simple for greater impact.

Other Areas to Work On

One of the key principles of Feng Shui is that everything is connected. To get the benefit of energy in one area, you have to look at the rest of your space. So your next step should be to look at your front garden or the area outside your home. Does it represent what you’d like for your future?Skimmia plants with red berries

Whatever the time of year this should always look well maintained and inviting. Keep things tidy and add some seasonal plants for colour. You could also use outdoor lights to give the energy a boost.

If you live in an apartment and have a shared hallway, make sure the area is bright and fresh to draw strong energy to your door.
